Vision & Purpose
First: To Call the Church of the Twin Cities to Repentance.
Why Repentance?
Right now, more than 800 geographic areas around the globe are experiencing the most significant outpouring of Revival fire in human history. Peoples and tribes are returning to God. The Gospel is restoring whole regions in ways previously unimaginable. Even ecology is being supernaturally recalibrated.
In the midst of this move, the American church remains largely untouched. Our clergy are in bondage to sexual addictions. Divorce within Christian families continues to sky rocket. And “Christian” values are nearly indistinguishable from those of the world.
Yet “ministry” is booming! Mega-church’s are planted at a rapid rate in America, while the Christian book industry publishes some 2000 new books a year. These things are the result of a highly mechanized approach to Christian ministry. But while “ministry” continues to expand, hearts continue to shrink. The need for repentance has never been greater.
What does Repentance look like?
Everyone is a part of the Corporate Body. As individuals, we may not be personally responsible for the statistics. But as part of the Body, we have a living connection to the problem.
We must own this. The church needs to identify with these issues in a corporate way. Just as Daniel repented for both his sins and the sins of his nation, we must turn from our wicked ways in prayer and fasting. We must embrace identificational repentance.
Second: To Call the Church to Intimacy with Jesus.
Why the need for Intimacy?
Ministry that is genuine flows from the secret place. We know this. But the church in America has forsaken its love. We have put our trust in the schemes of man. Self reliance is our foundation; business as usual is our goal.
But the Church’s relationship to God is like the intimacy of a man to a woman. The ability to procreate flows from intimate love. And what’s true in the natural is true in the spirit. The church that has children is the church that is in love. But the inexperienced in intimacy are those that are barren.
In order to be fruit full we need to be faithful. God has betrothed us to one husband. Intimacy with Jesus is enough. The church will grow as it grows in love with Jesus. As we seek his face in prayer and fasting we will be restored.
Third: To call on God for the sake of Regional Revival.
What is Revival?
Simply put, revival is a re-awakening; an escape from death; a sudden infusion of grace and power. This idea is contained in the term itself. In order to be revived, we must have previously had a vive. We must once have had vitality and a heartbeat…
But somewhere along the way we became distracted from the simplicity of our devotion. We lost our zeal for the call. And we need to be re-established in the source of our “vive”. We need to be revived. At its core, this is what revival is.
What does it mean to experience Revival?
All people are born to live. But to every person, death comes. And when it does, what was once alive no longer breathes. The spark of our “vive” fades. And where faith once warmed us, we grow cold. But sometimes revival is possible. How?
By a sudden surge of power. Just as the human frame functions by electricity, it can be revived by electricity. And what’s true in the natural is true in the spirit. To experience revival is to experience God’s power entering us and quickening our spirits. When this happens we move beyond our belief in the omnipresence of God to an experience of the manifest presence of God.
What is the impact of Revival on an individual?
When Revival comes to a person, they are reconnected to the source of the Christian life. As they are, the power of spiritual lethargy and death become disrupted within them by the electrifying power of the Spirit. New levels of holiness become attainable. Greater authority in the Spirit is gained.
What is the impact of Revival on a church?
When Revival comes to a church, what is true for the individual now becomes true for the whole. The church begins to gain the ability to walk in the supernatural. Signs & wonders become a normal part of life. Power for mission becomes possible. The Body gets corporately reconnected to the source of its life.
What is Regional Revival?
A genuine visitation of God, if received with a healthy level of sustainable hunger for God, will have the potential to become a movement of God. If this occurs, Divine visitation may transition to Divine habitation. The church in Revival then unites with other churches to establish the Revival regionally. As this occurs, a vision for a regional church is formed.
The regional church operating in a spirit of uniy then begins to partner with its larger host community to change the community for Christ. As this occurs, government, legislation, education and beyond can begin to experience the transformative power of Gods presence!
